Men’s soccer club to begin play on Sept. 8

The TSC men’s soccer club was announced during the TSC Board of Trustees meeting in August. The return of soccer to Texas Southmost College (TSC) through a men's soccer club was announced during the TSC Board of Trustees meeting held in August with the recognition of the head coach and a handful of players.

The TSC men's soccer club will play their first match on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, at 3 p.m. at Scorpion Field, located behind the Recreation Center on 2000 W. University Blvd., against the University of Incarnate Word.

Open tryouts for current students was held during the first week of the fall 2018 semester.

The TSC club will participate in the Texas Collegiate Soccer League (TCSL), an affiliate of the National Intramural and Recreation Sports Association (NIRSA). The club will compete in the South Developmental Conference that includes the University of Incarnate Word, the University of Texas-San Antonio, the University of Houston and Prairie View A&M University.

TSC will play a five-game schedule, three at home and two away. All home games will be played at Scorpion Field.
