ENROLLMENT CHECKLIST

ELIGIBILITY

• Participants must be employed by the business requesting the training
• Participants must pass each module of the course and final evaluation in order to receive a Certificate of Training.
• Employer is responsible for providing the PPE supplies required to complete the course.

STEP 1: Contact Texas Southmost College WTCE Department

• Employer will need to complete a Pre-registration form
• Our office will contact each business and provide a Continuing Education Application for each employee to be trained.
• A photograph/media consent form is required for each employee and a one-time submission for the employer.

STEP 2: APPLY FOR ADMISSION

• It takes 1-2 business days to process the application.

STEP 3: Registration – Two Step Process

• Once the application has been submitted to our office we will process the registration.
• Participants will receive confirmation email with further instructions within 24 hours.

STEP 4: Payment

• $249 per participant
• Sponsorships are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. (Limit of 3 sponsorhips per business, restrictions apply).
• Business not grant eligible will have the option to pay at registration with Alliance Safety Council.

WHAT IS THE COVID-19 DISINFECTION SPECIALIST TRAINING?

The COVID-19 Disinfection Specialist Training Program goals are twofold for all Cameron and Willacy County Businesses: to foster a safe working environment for employees reporting back to work and to foster a safe shopping environment for customers.

Texas Southmost College in partnership with Alliance Safety Council has developed a short-term COVID-19 Disinfection Specialist Training Program that will be made available to business and industry using a distance education format.

WHAT TYPES OF BUSINESSES SHOULD SIGN UP FOR THIS TRAINING?

The course is for restaurants, retail, child cares, airports, banks, and other small business workers to learn how to disinfect their places of employment so that customers and employees remain safe during the COVID-19 situation.

HOW LONG IS THIS TRAIING AND WHAT IS BEING TAUGHT?

The Disinfection Training Program is an 8-hour online program. Students will learn and demonstrate their ability to:

1. Model appropriate methods to protect employees during cleaning, disinfection and general operations.
2. Prepare a Cleaning/Disinfection Action Plan.
3. Execute specific cleaning and disinfection techniques.
4. Documentation completion of cleaning and disinfection processes.

HOW MUCH WILL THE TRAINING COST AND ARE SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE?

The COVID-19 Disinfection Specialist Training Program costs $249 per student. Workforce Solutions Cameron has limited funding to help Cameron county businesses pay for the training. Scholarships are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

WILL EMPLOYEES NEED SPECIAL SUPPLIES FOR THE CLASS?

Employers will be responsible for providing all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and disinfection supplies. The Greater Brownsville Incentive Corporation will partner in this initiative by providing business and industry with limited PPE equipment and supplies.

WILL TRAINEES RECEIVE A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION?

Upon successful completion of the program, employees will receive a TSC certificate  suitable for public display  at their place of employment. The business will also receive a certificate to reassure clients that their workers have been properly trained to ensure the safety of employees and customers alike.

TSC Covid-19 Consortium is making this training possible and includes sponsorship by: Texas Southmost College, the City of Brownsville, Workforce Solutions Cameron, and the Alliance Safety Council. Partners in this important effort are: Texas Workforce Commission, the Greater Brownsville Incentive Corporation, Brownsville Community Improvement Incorporation, the Brownsville Chamber of Commerce and Valley Baptist Medical Center.

El curso es para trabajadores en restaurantes, tiendas, cuidado de niños, aeropuertos, bancos, y trabajadores de otras pequeñas empresas para aprender cómo desinfectar sus lugares de empleo para que los clientes y empleados pueden permanecer seguros durante la situación de COVID-19.

CUÁNTO TIEMPO TOMA LA CAPACITACIÓN Y QUÉ ES LO QUE ENSEÑA?

El Programa de Capacitación para Especialista en Desinfección de COVID-19 es un programa online de 8 horas. Los estudiantes aprenderán a demostrar sus conocimientos para:

1. Demostrar métodos apropiados para proteger a empleados durante limpieza, desinfección y operaciones generales.
2. Preparar un Plan de Acción de Limpieza/Desinfección.
3. Ejecutar técnicas específicas de limpieza y desinfección.
4. Documentar la terminación del proceso de limpieza y desinfección.

CUÁNTO ES EL COSTO DE LA CAPACITACIÓN Y HAY BECAS DISPONIBLES?

El Programa de Capacitación para Especialista en Desinfección de COVID-19 tiene un costo de $249 por estudiante. Workforce Solutions Cameron tiene fondos limitados para ayudar a empresas pagar por la capacitación. Becas estáran disponibles en la orden que se solicitan.

APRENDICES RECIBIRÁN UN CERTIFICADO DE TERMINACIÓN DE CURSO?

Todos aquellos que terminan el programa recibirán un Certificado de Capacitación de TSC que será adecuado para exhibición pública. La empresa recibirá elementos de mercadotecnia que podrá mostrar para avisar a sus clientes que sus empleados han sido apropiadamente capacitados y su empresa está a salvo de contaminación. Este programa está diseñado para asegurar la seguridad de empleados y clientes.
