Mr. Scott Nelson
Program Director Welcome to the Emergency Medical Science Program at Texas Southmost College! The EMS Program is dedicated to providing innovative, dynamic, and high quality EMS education with the intent of producing professional and proficient EMT and Paramedic certified/licensed providers. Paramedics are the highest level of pre-hospital providers working in a variety of areas to include fire departments, ambulance services, critical care services, flight services, tactical environments, and in hospitals. The TSC EMS program will challenge a student in the didactic, lab, clinical, and field settings. Through innovation, technology, and a faculty dedicated to the pursuit of excellence, students will develop their ability to provide emergency care to a wide range of patients in a pre-hospital setting. Graduates are eligible to take the National Registry Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic examination, as well as qualify for certification/licensing at the paramedic level in the state of Texas. Upon completion of the two year program, applicants will also be awarded their Associates in Applied Science degree in Emergency Medical Science. Contact us to find out if you have what it takes to join the ranks of the elite pre-hospital providers known as Paramedics. We will be glad to start you on this exciting and challenging educational journey. Mr. Scott Nelson
The TSC EMS Program recognizes that some individuals applying to our Paramedic program may come with other medical licensure and/or experiences. However, for the continuity and consistency of the EMS program at TSC, we do not allow advanced placement of students into the Paramedic program. More specifically, Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, or other allied health professionals will not be granted advanced placement into a Paramedic program or be given credit for their current licensure or experiences. Anyone seeking admittance into a Paramedic program at TSC will apply through the standard application process and will adhere to all attendance and course policies. Program Outcomes Data for 2017
