Graduation FAQs

  • Is it true I don’t have to apply for graduation?
  • Yes, TSC will automatically award degrees to students who have completed requirements without having to submit an application.  Advisors run a Degree Audit each semester for each student that qualify for graduation based on total credits earned.  Your Advisor will send you an email to confirm submission of your record for graduation.  Graduation will audit your record and alert you to the findings. Please review your degree with your advisor if you have any questions about the requirements.
  • What is a Candidate Information Card?
Once your record has been reviewed, you will receive an email with our findings.  In that email you will receive a link were you can indicate whether you wish to attend commencement, the name as you want displayed on your diploma, as well as, choose a delivery method.
  • I received an email that my record was submitted for graduation, when will I know if I’m eligible?
The Graduation Office reviews graduation candidate records throughout each semester.  Depending on the number of applicants for that semester, it may be a couple of weeks before you get a graduation status email.
  • I have made changes to my courses for the semester (dropped and/or added); will this affect my graduation status?
Yes, depending on the timing when the changes were made, and which classes were dropped or added, your graduation status could change. If you are in doubt, please confirm with the graduation office which courses were reviewed for your graduation status.
  • Is there a graduation ceremony?
Yes, TSC has a graduation ceremony at the end of the Spring Semester and the Fall Semester. Please check the Commencement page for date and time information. Participation does not indicate you will receive a degree.
  • Can I participate in the ceremony?

Summer graduates can choose to attend either the Spring or Fall Graduation ceremony, please indicate which ceremony you plan to attend on your Candidate Information Card.

  • Will my name be included in the graduation program?
Graduation candidates for Spring or Fall who are in-progress to graduate during their respective semester will have their name printed in the program if they met the deadline. Summer applicants who plan to attend the Spring ceremony will be listed in the Spring program if they meet the deadline.  In the Fall program, all graduates from the prior Summer graduation will be listed. The deadline is typically two weeks before the ceremony  We need to follow this deadline to allow time to edit the program, have them printed and delivered in time for the ceremony.
