Adjunct Instructor Employment Information

Minimum Requirements

  • Transfer courses require a master's degree or higher with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline.

  • Non-transfer courses require an associate's degree or higher.

    At least three years of documented direct or related work experience in the field (other than teaching).

  • Developmental courses require a baccalaureate degree in a discipline related to the teaching assignment and at least one of the following:
    1. A minimum of one year of teaching experience in the discipline related to the assignment; or
    2. Graduate training in teaching or developmental education.

    A Master's degree or higher in the teaching discipline is preferred.
