Architecture

Architecture
The only program in South Texas that prepare students to continue their education toward a Bachelor of Science in Architecture. Our service-learning projects and community-engagement initiatives engage students in a hands-on learning experience hands-on, learning experience synthesizing various approaches for interpretation, understanding, and appreciation of design and creativity.

AutoBody

Auto Body Repair
The program prepare students for the auto body collision industry as an entry level technician. The program reinforces technical training and safety procedures by implementing the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair Professional Development Program Education Edition (I-CAR PDP-EE), and industry standard curriculum that is aligned with Workforce Education Course Manual (WECM).

Automotive Repair

Automotive Technology
The program prepare students to enter the automotive industry as a C maintenance and B level technician. During recent years, 100% of the program’s graduates pass the ASE 609 Automotive air conditioning EPA Certification Test.

 
Chevron Engineering Academy

Chevron Engineering Academy
The Texas A&M-Chevron Engineering Academy at Texas Southmost College is an innovative co-enrollment program provides a pathway to students interested in pursuing an engineering degree at Texas A&M University.

Electrician

Commercial and Residential Electrician
The Program prepare students for entry level positions in an electrician career through hands-on training in all aspects of maintenance, operations, troubleshooting and repair of circuits. Graduates from the program complete the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) at the core and level certifications.

Drafting

Computer Aided Drafting
The program prepares students to pursue a career as drafting technicians at an entry level in architectural drafting, general building construction, CAD modeling design, industrial piping, and related manufacturing industries.

 
CIS

Computer Information System
The Program provide students with current analytical and technical knowledge to support computer information systems operations.

Computer Science

Computer Science
The program prepare students to transfer to a bachelor’s program in computer science while acquiring skills to design, create, test, and evaluate application software. Graduates from this program may find jobs in the fields of software engineering, artificial intelligence, telephony, computer networking, , database systems programming, computer graphics, computer gaming, embedded systems programming, operating system design, and computer architecture design, just to name a few.

Web Development

Computer Web Design
The Program prepare students to work as professional web publishers by providing training in designing and deploying interactive and dynamic web sites.

 
Construction Technology

Construction Technology
The program prepare students for a career in residential construction and repair as an entry-level building construction craftsperson.

HVAC

Heating, ventilation, Air Conditioning and refrigeration
The program provides students with hands-on training experience to prepare for entry into the HVAC industry, with the majority of our graduates attain the EPA Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling Program certification and the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) at the core and level certifications.

Mathematics

Mathematics
The Mathematics department offer a wide range of fundamental and advanced math courses required by students in science, non-science, and technical programs.

 
Scinece

Science
The Science degree plan is designed for students who seek to transfer into bachelor degree programs in biology, biomedical science or are working towards meeting the requirements for medical, dental, veterinary, physician assistant, and other health professions schools.
